Police Seek the Public's Help in Identifying Shooting Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the below pictured suspect in a shooting that occurred on Saturday, December 8th, 2018.

At approximately 2 a.m., police responded to the Sunoco Gas Station, located at 390 Washington Street, on a call of a shooting. A man had been shot by a male inside the store’s mini-mart following a quarrel.

While detectives investigating this incident are actively searching for the suspect, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating him and removing him from our streets. This investigation is active and ongoing.

Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about this suspect to call the Department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
