Full Notification

Effective December 17, 2018, Nixle is discontinuing the ability for its users to send text messages as part of "community" and "advisory" notifications. They will begin charging a fee for this service. We will still be able to send email notifications for those message categories. If you would like to still receive all notifications from the Kensington Police Department, you’ll need to sign up to receive email notifications if you have not done so already. You can sign up for email notifications easily by utilizing the tool on our website:

I do believe there is a value in being able to send notifications via text and will be exploring our options with Nixle as to the potential cost of continuing this service.
