Tacie Chaison, Trevon Chaison, and Chardonnay Carlton arrested after shoplift turned into a robbery

At 11:03 AM on December 8, 2018, Anchorage Police responded to Walmart at 3101 A Street in reference to a shoplift that turned into a robbery.  Walmart Loss Prevention stated that three employees had confronted a female suspect regarding merchandise she had concealed inside her purse; this happened in the front vestibule between the two sets of double doors where the grocery carts are stored.  The suspect pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the employees.  She then exited the store and left the area as a passenger in a white SUV.

As officers began arriving in the area, one of them located the suspect SUV parked outside Chuck E Cheese at 308 E Northern Lights.  After backup units arrived, officers searched the SUV and found it to be empty.  Officers went inside Chuck E Cheese to look for the suspects when a witness informed the police that the three occupants of the SUV had gone into the restrooms.  As officers approached the downstairs women’s bathroom, 21-year-old Chardonnay P. K. Carlton stepped out.  She matched the description of one of the suspects. It was ultimately determined that Carlton was not involved in the robbery at Walmart.  However, she did have a Quest card on her person, which did not belong to her, that she had used.  Carlton was arrested and remanded at the Anchorage Jail on the charge of Theft – Access Device.

Officers then responded to the bathrooms upstairs where 38-year-old Tacie P. Chaison was found.  She matched the description of the suspect who had the gun and pointed it at Walmart employees.  When officers looked inside the women's bathroom they found a syringe that was loaded with a substance that field-tested positive for heroin.  Chaison was arrested and remanded at the Anchorage Jail on an outstanding warrant.  She was further charged with Robbery I, three counts of Assault III, Theft IV, and Misconduct Involving a Weapon III – Felon in Possession.

25-year-old Trevon D. Chaison was seen standing outside the upstairs men’s restroom.  He matched the description of the SUV’s driver and was taken into custody. He was remanded on an existing felony probation warrant and additionally charged with Hindering Prosecution I.

Officers searched the downstairs women’s bathroom where both females had initially been, and found clothing which had been previously worn by the suspects.  They also found a handgun hidden inside a sanitary napkin disposal bin.  Tags that had been removed from Walmart merchandise were also recovered.  It appears drug use was a factor for all three suspects.

The white SUV was impounded.  Animal Control responded and took possession of a puppy that was inside the vehicle.
