DUI (Drug) - Aggravated Battery

12/05 - 1:21 p.m. - Police discovered a vehicle had went off the road at Werner Road and Saxtown Road. Upon making contact with the driver, he was arrested under suspicion of DUI. While at the police department the subject was transported via Millstadt EMS to a local hospital for a medical issue. While at the hospital the subject became extremely combative with the emergency room staff and the ambulance crew.

On 12/06 the St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office charged the defendant, Kyle S. Kehrer age 18 of Waterloo, with the following:

Count 1: Aggravated Battery (for striking a Memorial Hospital security guard in the thigh with his hand). A Class 2 Felony.

Count 2: Aggravated Battery (for spitting in the face of a Memorial Hospital security guard in the face). A Class 2 Felony.

Count 3: Aggravated Battery (for spitting in the face of a Memorial Hospital security guard in the face). A Class 2 Felony.

Count 4: Aggravated Battery (for kicking a computer out of the hand of a Millstadt Ambulance Emergency Medical Technician causing the computer to strike the EMT in the head). A Class 3 Felony.

Count 5: Aggravated Battery (for kicking a nurse in the arm). A Class 3 Felony.

The above charges are felonies due to the status of the victims, all who were engaged in the performance of their official duties.

Count 6: Driving Under the Influence (Cannabis). A Class A Misdemeanor.

His bond was set at $150,000.
