Flash Flood Watch until 12:00PM

Deep moisture combined with a vigorous upper level system and surface low will continue to produce widespread showers and a few thunderstorms across southwest Louisiana. Expect additional rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches with isolated higher amounts. The widespread precipitation is expected to continue early this morning and diminish from west to east over Southern Louisiana for the remainder of the morning into early afternoon as a strong cold front sweeps through the region. The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* Portions of central Louisiana, southwest Louisiana, and west central Louisiana, including the following areas, in central Louisiana, Avoyelles, Evangeline, and Rapides. In southwest Louisiana, Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, East Cameron, Jefferson Davis, and West Cameron. In west central Louisiana, Vernon.

* Until noon CST today

* Widespread rain, which may be heavy at times, is expected as a strong low pressure system approaches the area. Rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches, with isolated higher amounts, are possible.

* Low lying, poorly drained, and/or metro areas are the locations where the greatest potential to see flooding issues from these storms.

* AFFECTED AREAS: WEST CAMERON ... EVANGELINE ... BEAUREGARD ... RAPIDES ... CALCASIEU ... AVOYELLES ... EAST CAMERON ... ALLEN ... JEFFERSON DAVIS ... VERNON
