Press Release: Package Thief Arrested

DATE: December 3, 2018
LOCATION: 1200 Block Creighton Court
CASE #: 18-337-093
SUSPECT #1: Romano Pamilar Macario, 31-year-old Milpitas transient

On December 3, 2018, at approximately 1:55 P.M., an alert resident noticed a man attempting to hide a package under his jacket walking on S. Park Victoria Drive. Officers contacted the man who was later identified as Romano Pamilar Macario, and determined the package was stolen from a residence on Creighton Court. Macario was booked into the Santa Clara County main jail for possession of stolen property.

The Milpitas Police Department would like to thank the alert citizen for reporting this suspicious behavior and remind residents to take measures to safeguard their packages during the holiday season. Package thieves will sometimes follow delivery trucks to identify targets. When arranging a delivery, consider choosing an option that requires a signature upon delivery or have the package delivered to a family member, friend, or neighbor who will be home to accept the delivery. If your employer permits it, you may consider having the package delivered to your work address. Some delivery carriers offer a secure location for pick-up and delivery notifications via text or email when a package is delivered. Security cameras and doorbell cameras can also be utilized to monitor the front porch or other areas of your home. Please call the Milpitas Police Department if suspicious individuals or suspicious cars are seen in your neighborhood.
