Deep moisture combined with a vigorous upper level storm system will lead to widespread showers and a few thunderstorms across southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana beginning Friday. Rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches will be common with isolated higher amounts likely. The precipitation will come to an end from west to east during the day on Saturday as a strong cold front sweeps through the region. The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Louisiana and southeast Texas, including the following areas, in Louisiana, Acadia, Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Calcasieu, East Cameron, Evangeline, Iberia, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Lower St. Martin, Rapides, St. Landry, St. Mary, Upper St. Martin, Vermilion, Vernon, and West Cameron. In southeast Texas, Hardin, Jefferson, Northern Jasper, Northern Newton, Orange, Southern Jasper, Southern Newton, and Tyler.

* From Friday evening through Saturday afternoon

* Widespread rain, which may be heavy at times, is expected as a strong low pressure system approaches the area. Rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches, with isolated higher amounts, are possible.

* Low lying, poorly drained, and/or metro areas are the locations where the greatest potential to see flooding issues from these storms.
