Crash Leaves Man in Critical Condition
South Brunswick Police are investigating a crash that seriously injured a 47 year old North Bergen man Tuesday night. At 5:26pm the victim had pulled his box truck to the side of Fresh Ponds Road near Dean Rhode Hall Road as he went to make a delivery. As he was in the roadway he was struck by a 2011 Mercedes driven by a 31 year old North Brunswick man.
The victim was taken by South Brunswick EMS and paramedics to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
The driver of the Mercedes stayed on scene. Fresh Ponds Road was closed for over an hour as traffic investigators examined the scene. The accident is under investigation by South Brunswick Traffic Safety Bureau Officer William Merkler. Anyone with information can contact Officer Merkler at 732-329-4646.
