Deputy Seth Leopold of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Ricky Frank Burleson, 52, address listed as Cherokee Way in Marion, with possession of a firearm by a felon and resisting a public officer.
                At approximately 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, Deputies Leopold and Jordon Frisbee responded to Burleson’s residence on Cherokee Way in reference to a dispute.
                An investigation revealed that an acquaintance of Burleson’s gave the suspect a ride to Burleson’s house. When they arrived on Cherokee Way, Burleson became agitated, brandished a gun and fired it into the air.
                Deputies got on the scene and found Burleson with the firearm. He refused to follow their directions to exit a vehicle with his hands in the air. He was taken into custody a short time later.
