Suspect arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and drug paraphernalia

LOCATION: 7300 Block of Central Avenue, Highland
SUSPECT: Nick Huerta, 51 years old, San Bernardino transient
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, December 4, 2018 deputies were dispatched to the area of the Community Park on Central Avenue in Highland regarding a stolen vehicle. The 1995 Honda Civic was reported stolen to the Sheriff's Central Station on December 3, 2018. Deputies Campos and Olivas arrived in the area and found the vehicle, with the suspect inside the vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident.
Huerta was also in possession of drug paraphernalia. He will be charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia and booked at the West Valley Detention Center with bail set at $50,000. The criminal report will be sent to the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office for prosecution.
