Pedestrian Critically Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash
Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that critically injured a pedestrian in Stony Brook this morning.
A man was jogging across southbound Nicolls Road at the intersection of Health Sciences Drive, crossing against the light, when he was struck by a 2018 Dodge Caravan at 10:50 a.m.
The victim, who was not carrying identification, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The driver of the Dodge, Mohammad Refaat, 65, of 144 Jennings Ave., Patchogue, was not injured.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call Sixth Squad Detectives at 631-854-8652.
