On 12/1/18, at approximately 0144 hours, MHPD officers were dispatched to the Hill Bar & Grill located at 17330 Monterey Rd on a report of shots being fired downtown. Upon arrival, officers were able to determine there was a shooting in front of the business but no one was shot or injured.

During the investigation, officers learned a dark colored SUV was driving through downtown and stopped in the road on Monterey near the front of the Hill Bar & Grill. There was some kind of interaction between the occupants of the dark SUV and several subjects standing on the sidewalk. One of the occupants of the SUV, produced a handgun and fired several shots. One of the bullets struck a vehicle parked nearby. The SUV then fled the area and were last seen traveling south on Monterey Rd.

MHPD officers interviewed several witnesses at the scene and obtained surveillance video from downtown businesses. Detectives are actively investigating this incident and are requesting the help from any additional witnesses.
