#005/006 Robbery/Resisting Arrest
At approximately 3:50 a.m., the 7-Eleven clerk on Central Ave called to report an armed robbery.  A male adult suspect reportedly used a 3”- 4” knife in the commission of the robbery.  The suspect was last seen fleeing north on Joseph St.  Officers locate a male subject similar to the provided description at the corner of Joseph St/Peralta Bl.  The subject resisted their efforts to detain him.  He was detained and while determined not to be the suspect, was arrested for public intoxication and later booked at Santa Rita Jail.  As the above mentioned was taking place, a resident on Joseph St. called to report unknown people in their backyard.  A perimeter was established and a K9 search team quickly located a male and female hiding in the bushes on Gillett Rd (parallel to Joseph St).  They were detained without further incident.  The male was positively identified and video surveillance also showed the male and female, along with their dog, at the 7-Eleven store.  The video also showed the weapon used was a machete, which officers located during the course of an area search.  The 33 year old male transient was arrested and booked for robbery, exhibiting a deadly weapon and a probation violation.
