Deputies arrest a 16-year-old for vandalizing over $3,000 worth of property
DATE/TIME: November 28, 2018 / 2:00 p.m.
INCIDENT: PC 594, Felony Vandalism
LOCATION: Various locations in the City of Needles
SUSPECT: 16 year old male, resident of Needles
VICTIM(S): City of Needles, Cal-Trans and four victims on the 100 block of Spruce St.
SUMMARY:
On November 11, 2018, during the early morning hours, several areas in the city of Needles were vandalized with black spray paint that read "southside i.e." The locations that were tagged included the overpass at J Street and Interstate 40, four vehicles at the 100 block of Spruce Street and the "California" tunnel located at West Broadway south of Needles Hwy. The total cost to repair city property, state property and personal vehicles is estimated at over $3000.00.
Deputy F. Hernandez was continuing the investigation of this incident and on November 28, 2018 the suspect was arrested. The juvenile was on active probation for burglary and was transported to the Apple Valley Juvenile Hall where he was booked for felony vandalism.
