The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of 11-11-18 thru 11-17-18
 
November 11, 2018

• A Grand Theft was reported in the 1300 block of Heather Lane.  The victim’s wallet and a $2,500 lap top were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. 

•  Grand Theft Auto Arrest.  A Grand Theft auto was reported in the 1000 block of Hurstview Street.  Between 4:00 am and 6:00 am, person’s unknown stole a 1995 Nissan pickup from the street.  Later in the evening, LAPD Officers from Hollenbeck Division located the vehicle parked, with an adult male behind the wheel.  After further investigation, the suspect was arrested and the vehicle was returned to its owner.  The suspect is a resident of Los Angeles.   

• Grand Theft Auto Arrest.  Between 10:00 pm on November 8^thand 7:30 am on November 11^th, person’s unknown stole a 1999 Honda CRV from the street in the 1100 block of Cotter Avenue.  Later in the evening, LAPD Officers from Hollenbeck Division arrested an adult male with the vehicle.  The vehicle was returned to its owner.  The suspect is a resident of Los Angeles.

• A Grand Theft was reported at 1600 Mountain Avenue (Walmart).  Unknown persons removed a section of fence surrounding the construction site in the parking lot and stole a $15,000 forklift and a $200 propane tank. 

• A Strong Arm Robbery was reported at 2705 Huntington Drive (7-Eleven).  When the victim placed his money on the counter to pay for his merchandise, an adult male walked up from behind, grabbed his money from the counter and walked outside. When the victim confronted the suspect, the suspect punched the victim in the face and took off on a bicycle. 

• A Petty Theft was reported in the 2100 block of Royal Oaks Drive.  An adult male in his 50’s was captured on the victim’s “ring doorbell”, stealing a package from the front porch.  The victim was unsure what was in the package being delivered.  The investigation is on-going.

•  Shoplifting Arrest. Deputies responded to 2705 Huntington Drive (7-Eleven), regarding an adult male who stole an 18 pack of beer.  Prior to their arrival, the suspect had fled the location in a black GMC truck.  Based on the suspect description, along with a partial plate that was provided by a witness, deputies recognized the description as that of an adult male they detained earlier in a black GMC truck.  When deputies re-contacted the individual at his home, he admitted to committing the beer run and was arrested.                 

• Narcotics Paraphernalia Arrest. Deputies responded to the 2100 block of Huntington Drive, regarding a call of an adult male urinating on the side of a building.  Deputies detained two male adults at the location and after further investigation, arrested one of them for possession of a methamphetamine pipe.      

• Possession of Brass Knuckles Arrest.  Deputies were patrolling the area of Mountain Avenue and Lewiston Street, when they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with tinted windows.  When they contacted the driver, he was found to be driving on a suspended license and detained.  During the investigation, it was also determined the driver was a documented gang member and on felony probation.  During a probation search of the driver and his vehicle, a pair of brass knuckles was located inside the vehicle.  After further investigation, the driver was arrested for driving on a suspended license and possession of brass knuckles.
