Juvenile in custody after high-speed attempt-to-elude near Quincy

Near QUINCY, Wash. 27NOV2018) – What started as a traffic stop of a vehicle with five occupants late last night by Quincy Police Department, ended up with one 13-year-old male in custody, and one other juvenile requiring transport to a local hospital after speeds reaching between 90-100 mph resulted in eventual loss of control of the vehicle near Beverly Burke Road.

At approximately 10:40 pm last night, Quincy Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle running stop signs in Quincy. Instead of pulling over, the driver fled with speeds reaching over 100 miles per hour towards the city of George. Due to potential risk to others, Quincy Policed Department stopped pursuing approximately 10 minutes later.

At approximately 10:50 pm, a Grant County Sheriff Deputy located the vehicle matching the description on Beverly Burke road approaching SR26 and tried to initiate a traffic stop. The driver again continued south on Beverly Burke road reaching speeds of approximately 90 miles per hour. As the vehicle approached a sharp turn, the driver lost control and left the roadway.

Three of the five occupants were treated for minor injuries and two of those were transported to the hospital, including the driver. The driver, age 13, was released shortly after and was arrested on two counts of Attempt to Elude.
