Consumer Affairs reported that someone received a call from what appeared to be a New Jersey Police Department non-emergency number alerting them to the fact their identity had been stolen. The caller told the person that drug traffickers had bought houses and cars in their name. The person called their local police department after receiving the call to see if the call was legitimate. The police department confirmed that no one from the department had called.
If anyone receives a questionable phone call from someone identifying themselves as police you can call South Brunswick Police directly at (732) 329-4646 to confirm the call.
Georges Road will be closed in the Dayton section of the Township on Wednesday for water department to install a water main near 229 Georges Road. The closure will impact the southern end of the roadway from Culver Road to Route 130. The project is expected to go from 9am to 4pm.
Local detours will be set up.

Spoofing is when a caller deliberately falsifies the information transmitted to your caller ID display to disguise their identity.
