As snow continues to fall this morning, the Aurora Snow Team will continue its non-stop snow removal operations throughout the day. The fleet worked all night to keep primary roadways clear and, working with local contractors, have moved into residential neighborhoods. Also throughout the night, Aurora fire, police and public works staff collaborated with ComEd on power outages and more than a dozen reports of fallen trees and downed wires due to the high winds. “It has been an intense night,” said Aurora Mayor Richard C. Irvin. “We applaud and thank all of our team members who are out in the elements to keep Aurora safe and operational.” GARBAGE COLLECTION CANCELLED Due to the weather, trash collection has been cancelled for today, Monday, November 26. Consequently, this week’s daily collection schedule will be delayed by one day. SCHOOL CLOSINGS All of Aurora’s public school districts and most private schools, parochial schools and colleges are closed today. Some have delayed starts. Residents are encouraged to check with their respective school for additional updates.
