Police Investigate Commercial Burglaries
Beginning at about 1:30 early Saturday morning, the Simi Valley Police Department began responding to commercial burglary alarms and reported burglaries. The first alarm was reported at Old Santa Susana Café in the 1500 block of Kuehner Drive. When officers arrived, they discovered that the suspect(s) broke the glass on the front door, entered the business and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
Shortly thereafter, at around 1:45 a.m., a security guard at Costco heard a burglary alarm sounding at the Chili's restaurant located near the intersection of Cochran Street and Madera Road. When the security guard looked toward Chili's, he saw two suspects running away from the restaurant. The suspects entered an unknown type vehicle and drove away eastbound on Cochran. When officers arrived, they saw that the suspects had smashed a large window to gain entry. Again, the suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
At around 4:30 a.m., an employee arrived at Chi-Chi's Italian Restaurant in the 5100 block of Los Angeles Avenue, and noticed the window had been smashed. The suspect(s) once again targeted the cash register and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The Chi-Chi's employee also noticed that the window had been smashed at Baskin Robbins, located nearby. It is unknown at this time what was stolen from Baskin Robbins.
