**UPDATE** #LASD Homicide Continues to Assist Bell Gardens PD with Officer Involved Shooting Investigation
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing to assist Bell Gardens Police Department with an Officer Involved Shooting investigation. The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at approximately 10:18 p.m.
Detectives have learned, Bell Gardens Police Officers responded to the 5900 block of Loveland Street, in the city of Bell Gardens, regarding a family disturbance call.
Upon their arrival, they contacted a male Hispanic adult who became agitated. The suspect then ran further into the house where he then attacked his step-father with a knife.
The Bell Garden’s police officers chased the suspect into the home and while the suspect was stabbing his step-father with the knife, an officer-involved shooting occurred. The suspect, a male Hispanic 24 years old, was struck by gunfire at least one time in the upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim, a male Hispanic 33 year old, was transported to a local hospital where he is currently undergoing medical treatment but is in stable condition.
No officers were injured in this incident.
