The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

November 9th
0728 Hours: Officer Pacheco arrested a 44-year-old male out of Newark for domestic battery. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

0936 Hours: Officer Hernandez responded to the 36000 block of Beech Place, and investigated a vehicle theft. Between midnight and 0930 hours, unknown suspect(s) stole a blue 1995 Honda Accord.

1001 Hours: Officer Rivera responded to the 2000 block of Newpark Mall Rd. and investigated a vehicle theft. Between 0940 and 0950 hours, unknown suspect(s) stole a black 2012 Mitsubishi Galant.

1308 Hours: Officer Pacheco contacted and arrested a 68-year-old transient male for an outstanding arrest warrant. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.


November 10th
1544 Hours: Officer Hernandez contacted and arrested a 37-year-old transient male for his outstanding arrest warrant. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.


November 11th
0618 Hours: Officer Quinones responded to the 8000 block of Mayhews Landing Road and investigated the theft of red 1990 Toyota Camry.

1542 Hours: Officer Quinones investigated a petty theft of a Milwaukee brand saw. The suspect fled southbound on Highway 880 in a silver Honda Civic. The suspect was described as a Hispanic Male Adult in his 50’s, bald, wearing a brown sleeveless shirt and blue jeans.


November 12th
0334 Hours: Officer Rivas contacted and arrested a 39-year-old transient male for violating the terms of his probation. He was booked into Fremont Jail.

0909 Hours: Officer Mapes contacted a 34-year-old male out of Newark, conducted a probation search and arrested the male for possession of methamphetamine. He was cited and released.

2222 Hours: Officer D. Johnson contacted and arrested a 20-year-old female out of Newark for an outstanding arrest warrant. She was cited and released.


November 13th
2145 Hours: Sergeant Sandoval contacted and arrested a 36-year-old female out of Oakland for an outstanding arrest warrant. She was cited and released.


November 14th
1051 Hours: Officer Rivera contacted and arrested a 26-year-old transient male for violating the terms of his probation and resisting, delaying, obstructing officers. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

1422 Hours: Officer Pacheco contacted and arrested a 38-year-old transient male for an outstanding arrest warrant. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

1811 and 0412 Hours: Officers investigated two separate burglaries from vehicles during which suspect(s) gained access into the locked vehicles by shattering windows to steal a purse and a backpack.


November 15th
1203 Hours: Officer Rivera contacted and arrested a 41-year-old male out of Union City for identity theft. He was cited and released.

2120 Hours: Officer Slavazza responded to the 5700 block of Mowry School Road and investigated a burglary from a vehicle during which suspect(s) gained access into the locked vehicle by shattering a window to steal a laptop.


November 16th
0722 Hours: Officer Pacheco investigated a theft of construction materials that had occurred at a construction site overnight.

1938 Hours: Officer Herbert investigated a reported battery and arrested a 28-year-old male out of Newark for domestic battery. He was booked into Fremont Jail.

1946 Hours: Officers investigated a disturbance and arrested a 32-year-old male out of Newark for being too inebriated to care for himself or others and resisting, delaying, obstructing officers. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

2051 and 2058 Hours: Officers investigated two burglaries from vehicles. The suspect was described as an adult male, tall, medium build, and wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with yellow writing, and black sweatpants with white stripes. The suspect was seen fleeing in what was described as a newer model Nissan Sentra.


November 17th
0046 Hours: Officer Palacio investigated a petty theft from a business in the 6700 block of Thornton Avenue.

1004 Hours: Officer Quinonez responded to the 37000 block of Olive Street regarding a disturbance and arrested a 26-year-old female out of Newark for vandalism. She was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

1355 Hours: Officer San Pedro responded to the 6500 block of Flanders Drive, investigated a reported vandalism and arrested a 47-year-old male out of Newark for violating the terms of his probation and vandalism. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

2117 Hours: Community Service Officer Parks took custody of a 28-year-old male out of Bay Point for his outstanding arrest warrant and booked him into Santa Rita Jail.

2216 Hours: Officer Herbert investigated a battery and arrested a 36-year-old male out of Newark for domestic battery. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

2349 Hours: Officer Slavazza contacted and arrested a 20-year-old male out of Berkeley for DUI. He was later cited and released.


November 18th
0953 Hours: Officer Jackman contacted and arrested a 32-year-old female out of Hayward for six outstanding arrest warrants. She was booked into Santa Rita Jail


November 19th
0708 Hours: Officer Taylor responded to the 35000 block of Newark Blvd. and investigated a burglary from a vehicle during which suspect(s) gained access into the locked vehicle by shattering a window to steal a purse and sunglasses.

0931 Hours: Officer Mapes investigated a theft of an air conditioning unit that had occurred at a construction site over the weekend.


November 20th
0933 Hours: Officer Wallace responded to the 6300 block of Zulmida Avenue and investigated the theft of a black Ford Crown Victoria that had occurred sometime between November 16th and the 19th.

1949 hours: Officer Hunter contacted and arrested a 27-year-old male out of Fremont for an outstanding arrest warrant. He was cited and released.

2312 hours: Officer Hunter contacted a 55-year-old male out of Newark, conducted a probation search and arrested the male for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released.
