The Danville Police Department will have extra officers out and about in the community this evening to provide additional enforcement for the annual 'College Night' activities.

College Night has become an annual tradition where returning college students come downtown and enjoy reconnecting on the night before Thanksgiving.

Oftentimes, this can also lead to partying at area drinking establishments, so the Danville Police Department details extra patrols to make sure everyone gets home safely.

Officers from the DPD will be on foot patrol in the downtown and will be providing extra patrols through town. Normal police services will not be affected.

The Danville Police Department reminds everyone over the coming holiday weekend to drink responsibly, use a designated drive, and when necessary use a taxi or ride-sharing service rather than drive while intoxicated. Let's make it a safe and fun Thanksgiving!
