Mayor Bhalla Announces Free Shop HOP Pilot Program

Hoboken Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla announces a new HOP bus pilot program to transport residents from the Hoboken Housing Authority to the ShopRite of Hoboken. This program is sponsored by ShopRite and free of charge for residents. The “Shop Hop” pilot program will run for six weekends on Saturdays & Sundays, beginning this weekend, November 24th, 2018 through December 30th, 2018. “My administration has been working for several months in partnership with Inserra Supermarkets to develop ways to further benefit the residents of Hoboken’s Housing Authority and I believe this is a great start,” said Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla. “As the holiday season approaches, there is no better time to pilot this program especially when it comes to zero cost to taxpayers,” Bhalla added. After completion of this pilot program on December 30th, 2018, the City of Hoboken’s Department of Transportation and Parking will conduct a thorough review of the program to consider potential extensions, route alterations, expansions. The Shop Hop pilot program will run Saturdays & Sundays from November 24th, 2018 through December 30th, 2018, between 9 AM – 1 PM. Pick up/drop off locations and times can be found below: Hoboken Housing Authority South (in front of 230 Harrison Street) 9:00am, 9:30am, 10:00am, 10:30am, 11:00am, 11:30am, 12:00pm, and 12:30pm. Hoboken Housing Authority North (on Jackson Street on the northside of the intersection with 5th Street, 501 Jackson Street) 9:05am, 9:35am, 10:05am, 10:35am, 11:05am, 11:35am, 12:05pm, and 12:35pm.
