Two subjects in custody following a vehicle and foot pursuit.

INCIDENT: Failure to Yield
LOCATION: Lorene Drive & 7th Street, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Laura Shavon O’Connell, 38-year old Apple Valley Resident
Brady Alan Flanagan, 22-year old Victorville transient
VICTIM: Deputy Sheriff, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department
SUMMARY: On November 20, 2018, deputies from the Victorville Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop on a 2003 Infinity, near the intersection on 7th Street and Lorene Drive.
The driver of the Infinity, Brady Alan Flanagan, failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle pursuit continued down 7th Street to the area of E Street. Once Flanagan stopped the vehicle, he fled on foot and was chased by deputies. He was taken into custody a short distance away. The passenger, Laura Shavon O’Connell, got into the driver seat and traveled a short distance before being apprehended.
During the foot pursuit, one of the deputies suffered a serious injury to his knee. He was airlifted to a nearby trauma center for treatment. Flanagan was arrested and will be booked at High Desert Detention Center for failure to yield-causing an injury to a peace officer. O’Connell was arrested and will be booked at High Desert Detention Center for failure to yield.
