The Green Bay Police Department is hosting the 3rd annual Badges Giving Baskets community initiative to help families in need during the week of Thanksgiving. The purpose of this initiative is to help people in need, spread good will during the week of Thanksgiving, and show all residents we do more than just police work. As a department, we serve the community daily and we want to show the community officers serving in a different way.

Today at 11:00 AM, police officers will be in the community handing out food baskets to families they know are in need or random people they meet.

Badges Giving Baskets would not be possible without the fiduciary support of the Packers Foundation. The department was awarded a $3000 grant in 2017 to assist in this initiative for many years. The food was purchased from Feeding America- Eastern Wisconsin and the baskets from Hobby Lobby, all at a discounted rate. Without the help of these organizations, Badges Giving Baskets would not be possible
