On November 11, 2018, Los Angeles County Waterworks District No. 29, Malibu, customers in the following areas were notified of the need to boil/disinfect all tap water used for drinking and cooking purposes.

The north Point Dume area between Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and the northern boundary of the City of Malibu including Kanan Dume Road, Ramirez Canyon Road, Zumirez Drive and Cavalleri Road.

The Encinal Canyon area up to the northern border of the City of Malibu.

The area north of Malibu High School including Harvester Road, Cuthbert Road, Philip Avenue, Seaview Drive, and Horizon Drive.

The Los Angeles County Waterworks District No. 29, Malibu, along with the State Water Resources Control Board and the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health, has determined that, through the reduction of the health hazard and comprehensive testing of the water, your water is safe to drink. It is no longer necessary to boil tap water.
 
NOTE / EXCEPTION: The boil water notice is still in effect for the area served by the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, which includes the area south of Westlake Village, east of the Ventura County line, north of the City of Malibu and west of Corral Canyon.
 
Prior to using water in your home or business, turn on all outdoor hose spigots for at least 2 minutes each or longer until the water is clear. Afterwards, turn on all interior faucets, including sink faucets, showers and tubs. Run both cold and hot water for at least 2 minutes each or longer until the water is clear. This process should remove any sediment or discoloration that may be in the water.
