On Saturday, June 30th at around 2:55 AM a 23 year old male and a 24 year old male went to the 7-11 at 460 Woodside Road to make a purchase.

Once inside the store they were confronted by two suspects, Justin Guidici (24) of Redwood City and Abran Gutierrez (32) also from Redwood City. Guidici and Gutierrez made threatening comments towards the two victims, yelling out gang slurs. The suspects lured the victims outside, where they subsequently attacked them. One victim was stabbed during the assault. RCPD Patrol officers arrived on scene, detained Guidici, and provided medical assistance to the two victims. Gutierrez fled the scene. The stabbing victim received a significant injury to his side requiring emergency surgery. Guidici was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for felony assault with a deadly weapon and for participation in a criminal street gang. Gutierrez fled the state to avoid prosecution.

In September Gutierrez was tracked to Oregon where he was arrested by the US Marshal’s Service. Extradition was arranged and, on November 14th, Gutierrez was transported to the San Mateo County Jail where he is currently awaiting court proceedings.
