Heavy Snow Bands Diminishing Soon...We have seen a significantly heavy band of precipitation stay as all snow the last few hours and that has resulted in rapid accumulation with 1-2" per hour rates. This is starting to ease as lighter intensity snow is coming in. Some sleet can start occurring as this takes place 4-6 PM. Additional accumulation can occur to early evening, but likely not as heavy as what has been seen the last few hours.
Eventually rain will begin becoming the dominant precipitation type but that won't be until later this evening. Watch for coatings of ice as the rain can be freezing rain. Gradual warming taking place overnight.
