Homicide 100 Block Starr Ave.

On Saturday, November 3, 2018, at about 12:02 A.M., Turlock Police Department received a call of an assault which had just occurred at a residence in the 100 block of Starr Ave. Turlock Police Officers responded to the scene and made contact with the victim who advised them that several subjects had forced their way into his home, assaulted him, and stole his cellular phone. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and officers began a robbery investigation. During this initial investigation, several persons of interest were identified. Officers attempted to get additional statements from the victim, but due to his medical condition, they were unable to.

On November 11, 2018, Turlock Police Department was notified that the victim did not survive his injuries and had died. Turlock Detectives were notified of this development and took over the investigation.

On November 13, 2018, Detectives interviewed several subjects regarding this incident. As a result of their investigation, Detectives arrested Jennifer Smith, a 35 year old female from Modesto, on suspicion of murder. The victim’s name is not being released pending next of kin notification.
