Streetlight Outage

Streetlight Outage:

On Sunday, November 11, 2018, the streetlight circuit failed in the area bordered by City and County of San Francisco on the north; Southhill Boulevard and Bellevue Avenue; Oakridge Drive on the east; and Alta Vista Way on the south. This area is served by "series" wired streetlights identified by City staff as RO-414. Series wired street lights fail in groups, like an old-style Christmas lights typically leaving an entire neighborhood without streetlights. RO circuit failures and street light outages are commonly caused by a PG&E equipment failure or accidental damage. Due to the high voltage used in RO circuits, or because PG&E equipment is involved, city staff can not perform repairs or need extensive coordination with PG&E to do so. At this time, there is an intermittent power problem with PG&E's equipment.

Public Works staff is working with PG&E to restore power to the street lights as soon as possible. For updated information over the next few weeks, please call Public Works - Administration (650) 991-8038 or Street Maintenance (650) 991-8097, or look for updates in the i-help system under request 5188451
