Suffolk County Police today arrested a Bay Shore man for attempted bank robbery.

Samuel G. Hightower III entered Chase bank, located at 840 Sunrise Service Road in Bay Shore and presented a note demanding cash at approximately 3:30 p.m. Hightower fled on foot before the teller could comply.

Third Precinct Police Officer Tiffany Torres responded to the bank hold up alarm and located Hightower fleeing the bank.

Hightower, 27, of 114 Ocean Avenue in Bay Shore was arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery 3^rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7^th Degree.

Hightower will be held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on November 14.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
