Today at 1:00 PM the Green Bay Police Department is hosting a retail theft summit in anticipation of the holiday season. Thanksgiving weekend is the kick off to the shopping season, we are meeting to ensure all retailers are well prepared for the shopping season. Our crime prevention staff went to many businesses inviting them to this meeting. We hope that all retailers come, listen, learn, and work with all retailers so we can further reduce retail theft in the City of Green Bay.

At the meeting, we will be discussing a review of the current retail theft statistics, current trends of the most stolen items, the best practices in stopping/preventing retail theft, and a discussion of the deployment of the cardboard Chief Smith cut outs.
