16-Year Old Arrested with Handgun 
On Monday, November 12, at approximately 1251 am, Wilmington Police were responding to W. 5th and N. Franklin Street for a report of ‘shots fired’.
As officers were nearing the area they observed a vehicle in the 900 block of W. 4th Street, traveling at a high rate of speed, and its headlights were turned off.
A motor vehicle stop for the infraction revealed five juveniles occupying the vehicle and their ages were: two juveniles age 14, two juveniles age 15, and one juvenile age 16.
While making contact with the 16-year old juvenile male, officers observed a firearm.
The 16-year old was arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession of A Firearm By Person Prohibited;
- Carrying A Concealed Deadly Weapon;
- Discharge Firearm on Street.
Wilmington Police encourage the community to call police when they see suspicious behavior.
