Freeze Warning until 09:00AM Tuesday

..Freeze Warning in effect for the northern two thirds of Northeast Texas tonight... The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Lake Wind Advisory which is in effect from 9 AM CST this morning to midnight CST tonight. A Freeze Warning is also in effect from midnight CST tonight through 9 AM CST Tuesday.

* EVENT...A strong cold front will push through the region later today. Expect increasing, sustained north to northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph with higher gusts in the wake of the cold front. In addition, look for temperatures to drop near to below freezing late tonight as well.

* TIMING...Strongest north to northwest winds will begin by mid morning and continue through the evening hours. Look for near freezing temperatures after midnight tonight through mid morning on Tuesday.

* IMPACT...Gusty winds will make for hazardous boating conditions on area lakes and rivers. Sensitive vegetation may be damaged or killed in areas of freezing temperatures.

* AFFECTED AREAS: WOOD ... UPSHUR ... RUSK ... BOWIE ... FRANKLIN ... CAMP ... GREGG ... TITUS ... MORRIS ... SMITH ... CASS ... RED RIVER ... MARION ... CHEROKEE ... HARRISON

Instructions:

A Lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing. A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. Bring sensitive plants indoors, and wrap outdoor pipes to protect them from the cold. Don't forget your pets. If left outdoors, make sure they have a warm and dry shelter.
