SUMMARY:
The City of Highland’s Quality of Life Team has been conducting an identity theft investigation for several weeks. Deputies located a U-Haul truck parked in the rear yard of Danielle Golden’s residence. The U-Haul was found to be rented fraudulently by using one of the victims' names.
On November 9, 2018, deputies from the Highland Station assigned to the Quality of Life Team, and investigators from SANCATT served a search warrant at Golden’s residence and recovered approximately $100, 000 worth of property to include multiple stolen vehicles, other stolen property, and multiple pieces of information used for identity theft. Several subjects were arrested and booked into county jail. Danielle Golden was arrested for grand theft auto, possession of stolen property, identity theft, and false impersonation of another.
Through further investigation, it was learned the victims' information was obtained through mail theft. The Highland Police Department encourages residents to report any suspicious behavior by contacting law enforcement immediately.
