Structure Fire Displaces Family

ROHNERT PARK – On 11/10/2018 at approximately 10:38PM, the Rohnert Park DPS Communications Center received a call from an alert neighbor of a possible structure fire in a home located at 1386 Marigold Place. It was reported there was flames visible from the chimney. The alert neighbor was able to wake the residents and assist them in evacuating the structure.
The first emergency unit arrived at 10:42PM to find the exterior structure of the chimney on fire and partial extension into the home. Firefighters from Rohnert Park, Rancho Adobe, Rincon Valley, and Santa Rosa assisted in the suppression efforts bringing the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. The fire was contained to the living room and chimney structure of the residence.
According to the homeowner, they had a fire in their fireplace earlier in the evening. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, a Rohnert Park DPS Fire Investigator arrived on scene to investigate the cause and origin of the fire.
