Probation search leads officers to cocaine and drug paraphernalia 
Detective Patrick Guion of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Garry Lee Swafford, 55, of 5260 Nix Creek Road in Marion, with possession of cocaine, maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Swafford is also charged with violating his probation.
On Thursday, Oct. 18, Guion assisted state probation and parole officers with a search of Swafford’s residence.
Authorities uncovered .40 gram of cocaine and items of drug paraphernalia.
