SEVERE THUNDERSTORM THREAT OVERNIGHT FRIDAY- WIND GUST TO 60 MPH COULD DOWN TREES AND POWER LINES. 1-2" RAIN POSSIBLE.

MARGINAL RISK of Severe Weather.
SLIGHT RISK of Flash Flooding.
WHERE:

Severe weather New York City and Long Island. Flash Flooding northeastern New Jersey, New York City, portions of the lower Hudson Valley, and southern Connecticut.

WHEN:

Severe weather Friday evening, Flash Flooding late Friday afternoon and Friday night.

Potential Hazards and Impacts:

Severe Thunderstorms: The main threats associated with any severe storms will be:
Wind gusts up to 60 mph. This could down a few, trees and power lines. Isolated power outages are possible.
The graphic below highlights the approximate location and level of the Day2 severe weather threat.

Flash Flooding: A basin average rainfall of 1 to 2 inches, and locally higher, is expected.

Rainfall rates of 1 inch/hr is possible
Locally heavy rainfall will lead to areas of urban and poor drainage flooding.
Minor flooding along quick responding rivers/streams is possible.
