High Wind Warning until 06:00PM Friday

Strong and gusty Santa Ana winds will develop below the Cajon Pass into portions of Orange County this morning, then develop southward into San Diego County later in the day and this evening. The strongest and most widespread winds are expected for tonight through Friday morning, then diminishing late Friday and Friday evening. The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a High Wind Warning...which is in effect from midnight tonight to 6 PM PST Friday.

* Winds...Areas of north to northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph will develop in the mountains for this afternoon. The winds will strengthen tonight and expand into the valleys for late tonight and Friday with the strongest and most widespread winds expected for late tonight into Friday morning with areas of northeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph. Isolated gusts to 65 mph are possible near the Banning Pass and near the ridge tops of the San Diego County mountains.

* Impacts...Hazardous driving conditions. Strong cross winds. Downed trees and power lines.

* Outlook...Another moderately strong Santa Ana event Sunday afternoon through Monday.

* AFFECTED AREAS: RIVERSIDE COUNTY MOUNTAINS ... SAN DIEGO COUNTY MOUNTAINS ... SAN DIEGO COUNTY INLAND VALLEYS ... SAN GORGONIO PASS NEAR BANNING
