Arrest made in an early morning armed robbery at 5 points gas station. 
On 11/7/2018 at 01:45 am officers responded to 5 Points Grocery and Beverage at 600 W Milwaukee St for an armed robbery. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded currency from the clerk. The suspect stole items from the convenience store and currency. The person then fled from the business leaving items behind, which aided in the identification of the suspect. Officers were able to determine the suspect was Carlos Ford.
On 11/7/2018 at 04:19 am officers responded to a residence in the 2500 block of N Sumac. The response was to a call of a hostage situation. The suspect in this second call was determined to be Carlos Ford. Officers made contact with Ford and a female when they exited the residence. Ford resisted arrest, but was able to be taken into custody. One officer did sustain a minor injury while taking Ford into custody. There is still additional information being followed up on in regards to this investigation.
