NEWARK POLICE INVESTIGATE A FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION INVOLVING A VEHICLE AND A BICYCLIST
On Thursday, November 1, 2018 at approximately 9:22 p.m., Officers of the Newark Police Department were dispatched to a collision involving a motor vehicle and a bicyclist near the intersection of Cedar Boulevard and Milani Avenue.
The bicyclist, described as an adult male, was not wearing a helmet. He was located in the roadway with major injuries and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the vehicle has cooperated with Traffic Investigators of the Newark Police Department. At this point in time, neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in this collision investigation.
The Newark Police Department’s Traffic Division is still investigating to determine if any criminal misconduct is associated to this collision.
