Person Arrested after attack with Tree Branch
On November 1st at 9:31 am, officers responded to the area of Shattuck Avenue and Allston Way after receiving multiple calls that there was a person knocking over garbage cans and throwing sticks at passing vehicles.  While officers were on their way, witnesses in the area also reported that the person had struck someone with a stick and was now breaking a large plate glass window at GameStop (2200 Shattuck Ave).

When two officers (both trained in Crisis Intervention) attempted to contact the suspect in front of GameStop, the suspect threw a tree branch—striking one of the officers in the head.  The two officers requested emergency help from other officers and were able to take the suspect into custody.

After speaking to several witnesses in the area, officers learned that the suspect had also struck two different people in the head with her sticks—requiring at least one of them (22 year old, Male) to be transported to a local hospital for treatment for a head injury.  In those instances, indications are that the attacks were unprovoked and that the people were simply waiting at the light to cross Allston Way.
