SUMMARY:
On November 2, 2018 at 10:52 a.m., Deputies from the Apple Valley Station responded to a call of subjects shooting at an apartment complex from a vehicle on the 20900 block of Sioux Rd. A description of the suspect vehicle was given by witnesses as a silver colored Mercedes Benz SUV. The Mercedes Benz SUV fled the area but was located by Apple Valley detectives driving in the area. The detectives attempted to conduct an enforcement stop on the Mercedes and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit continued for approximately 2 miles and ended at the corner of Yucca Loma Rd and Yakima Rd. The driver of the Mercedes, Tanesha Moore, was taken into custody without incident at the termination point of the pursuit. The passenger of the vehicle, later identified as Horbert Thursby, fled from the vehicle on foot and was located hiding in an apartment on the corner of Yakima Rd and Powhatan Rd. Thrusby was taken into custody without incident.

Upon further investigation, it was determined Moore and Thursby engaged in a verbal argument with a victim earlier in the day. Moore and Thursby retrieved a firearm, drove to the victim's apartment on the 20900 block of Sioux Rd and fired several rounds into the victim’s apartment. The victim was not home at the time of the shooting and Moore and Thursby fled the area. Moore and Thursby drove to the area of Navajo Rd and Powhatan Rd. where they encountered the victim in her vehicle. Moore pulled behind the victim with her Mercedes Benz SUV and rammed the victim’s vehicle from behind, pushing the victim’s vehicle forward. Moore drove forward a second time at a high rate of speed, ramming the victim’s vehicle a second time, causing major damage to the victim’s vehicle, forcing the victim's vehicle into a parked vehicle and knocking the victim unconscious, causing injury to the victim.

After ramming the victim’s vehicle, Moore and Thursby fled the area, and were spotted by Apple Valley Detectives and the vehicle pursuit ensued. After taking Moore and Thursby into custody, Detectives from the Apple Valley Station authored and served three separate search warrants in conjunction with this investigation.

Thursby was recently released from custody on October 26th, on his own recognizance after being booked on felony grand theft and conspiracy to commit grand theft charges.

Thursby and Moore were both booked in High Desert Detention Center for PC 664/187(a) Attempt Murder. Anyone with further information about this incident is urged to contact the Apple Valley Police Department Detective Division.
