Child Safety Alert: Syringe Found in Trick or Treat Bag
On November 1, 2018, the Middleton Police Department was made aware that a local family found an iSecure sample or training syringe in their children’s Halloween candy bag. The family had been trick or treating in the Foxridge neighborhood and it is believed that the item was placed in the bag during that time. The item was not concealed in any fashion and was simply found with the other candy items in the child’s bag.
The item found was a sample or training medical device that contained no hazardous medications and no needle. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
The Middleton Police Department is simply requesting that parents carefully examine all of the items received by their children during last night’s festivities.
A photograph of the item found during this incident is attached.
Middleton Police Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
