The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office will participate in "No Shave November" to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. The mission of St. Jude's is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases—including cancer—through research and treatment. Largely due to private donations, families never receive a bill from St. Jude.

During the month of November, residents and guests may observe paticipating male personnel with unshaven faces and participating female personnel with a blue streak in their hair. Sheriff's Office personnel are required to donate to be eligible to participate in "No Shave November". At the end of the campaign, the Sheriff's Office will write a check to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in the total amount of all donations.
