Deputies are investigating an attempted murder in Adelanto; suspect remains at large

LOCATION: 11600 Block of Lawson Ave., Adelanto
SUSPECT: UNKNOWN
VICTIM: 44-year-old male, resident of Adelanto
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, November 1, 2018, at 12:31 am, deputies responded to the report of a shooting at the Roadway Express Motel, 17401 Lawson Ave. in Adelanto.
According to the caller, he heard gunshots and walked outside his hotel room. He saw the 44-year-old male victim jumping the fence into the parking lot of the hotel bleeding from his head. Deputies arrived and determined the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment. Deputies located the victim’s car across the street from the hotel with bullet holes and a broken windshield.
The suspect has not been identified and the motive for the shooting remains unknown.
