The intersection of Clay Bank Road and Quail Drive is now open.  The intersection was closed just after 5:30am when a solo vehicle traveling north on Clay Bank Road struck a signal pole.  Both occupants of the car had to be extricated by the Fairfield Fire Department.  They were transported to a local trauma center with life threatening injuries.  The road was closed while the Traffic Unit collected evidence and processed the scene to investigate the cause.
