SUSPECT: Jose Alberto Vasquez, 36 years old, resident of Grand Terrace

VICTIM: Confidential female


SUMMARY:
Central Station has a dedicated Child and Adult Protective Services Deputy who investigates allegations of child and elder abuse. In October 2018, Deputy Ortiz began an investigation based on a referral from Children and Family Services. The allegations were physical and emotional abuse of a female victim. During the investigation, Deputy Ortiz discovered additional evidence regarding the continual sexual abuse of the victim.

Further investigation was conducted, and it was discovered that the victim has been sexually abused from the age of 12 to 13 years of age. There had also been physical and emotional abuse to the victim. The suspect Jose Alberto Vasquez was contacted and interviewed. Evidence was gathered that corroborated the case. Vasquez was arrested and booked at the Central Detention Center where he is being held on $350,000.00 bail.
