Alert

Modesto PD arrested 3 this morning in relation to a residential burglary. Sunrise Ave was closed during the search.

At about 7:05 AM this morning police were dispatched to a burglary in the 1600 block of Pearl Street in northwest Modesto.

The citizen was able to get a license plate on the suspect vehicle as it left. Police tracked the vehicle back to the 800 block of Sunrise Avenue. The truck, a black older model pickup, was parked at the home. Several people were seen in the back yard and one male failed to comply with officers commands. He went back into the home, but surrendered a short time later after several public address announcements.

Police closed Sunrise Avenue for about 30 minutes as police checked the remainder of the home to ensure that everyone in the home had been detained pending an investigation. Police found two bullet proof vests and a ballistic helmet at the home.

Gary Tackett, a 35-year-old Modesto resident, was arrested for the burglary as well as a parole violation. Amanda Tubbs, a 28-year-old Modesto resident, was arrested for being a felon in possession of a bullet-proof vest and a parole violation. Crystal Gooch, a 30-year-old Modesto resident, was arrested for a parole violation. Other arrests and charges are possible in this case.
