INCIDENT: Attempted Murder

LOCATION: 14100 block of Cortez Drive, Victorville

SUSPECT(S): 17-year old male
Jesus Rios, 21-year old Adelanto resident,
Jonathan Barrera Zambrano, 20-year old Adelanto resident

VICTIM(S): #1: 23-year old male
#2: 22-year old male

UPDATE: On October 29, 2018, deputies from the Victor Valley Station responded to a call in the city of Adelanto. During their investigation they contacted Jonathan Barrera Zambrano, whom detectives had identified as the third suspect in the attempted murder which occurred on October 28, 2018, in Victorville. Barrera Zambrano was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder.

SUMMARY: On October 28, 2018, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a report of a fight at a Halloween party in the 14100 block of Cortez Drive.

Upon arrival, deputies located two male victims suffering from stab wounds. Victim #1 was flown to a nearby trauma center for treatment. Victim #2 was taken by ground ambulance to a nearby trauma center for treatment. Both victims underwent surgery for their injuries and were said to be in stable condition.

According to witnesses at the location, three males were engaged in an argument with the victims. During the argument, the men retrieved knives they had concealed on their persons and began stabbing the victims. The suspects fled the location prior to deputies arriving.

Through investigation, deputies located two of the suspects, identified as a 17-year old male and Jesus Rios. The juvenile suspect was arrested and booked at High Desert Juvenile Detention Facility for attempted murder. Rios was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder. The third suspect has been identified and detectives are in the process of detaining him.
